Southern passengers face a series of changes this weekend as engineering work affects services across Surrey, Sussex and west London. The disruptions will impact routes to Reigate, Brighton, Portsmouth and Watford, with bus replacements and altered timetables in place.
Reigate and Brighton services affected
From the end of Saturday's service at around 1am on Sunday, Southern services between London Victoria and Reigate will only run between London Victoria and Redhill. Passengers travelling to or from Reigate will need to change at Redhill for alternative services. The changes will remain in place throughout Sunday.
Buses will replace trains between Three Bridges and Brighton until around 7.15am on Sunday. Passengers using the replacement buses are being warned that journeys will take longer.
Portsmouth and Watford line closures
Buses will replace Southern trains between Havant and Portsmouth & Southsea and Portsmouth Harbour throughout the weekend. Passengers can use their tickets on South Western Railway bus services at no extra cost.
Engineering work between Shepherds Bush and Watford Junction will close some lines this weekend. No Southern trains will run between Shepherds Bush and Watford Junction from 7.45pm on Saturday until 1pm on Sunday. Services will then be suspended again from 8pm on Sunday until the end of service.
Alternative travel options
Passengers on the Watford route can use their tickets on alternative Southern services between Clapham Junction and London Victoria at no extra cost. Tickets will also be accepted on London Northwestern Railway services between London Euston and Watford Junction.
The engineering work is part of ongoing infrastructure maintenance, and passengers are advised to check their full journey before travelling. The changes apply specifically to Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4.
