Appeal Launched After Sleeping Woman Assaulted on Train
Detectives from the British Transport Police have issued a public appeal for information following a serious sexual assault on a train. The incident occurred on the morning of Thursday 23 October, shocking passengers and prompting a major investigation.
Details of the Disturbing Incident
The assault took place aboard a train service travelling between Edinburgh and Wolverhampton. A woman woke up to discover a man sexually assaulting her. The incident happened at approximately 9am while the train was in transit. Following the assault, the man subsequently disembarked from the train at its final stop, Wolverhampton station.
CCTV Image Released in Investigation
In a significant development, investigators have now released a CCTV image of a man they urgently wish to identify and speak with. Police believe this individual may possess crucial information that could significantly aid their ongoing inquiry into the assault.
