Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed that two Tube lines, three Overground lines, and the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) will experience partial closures this weekend, June 27-28, due to planned track work and depot preparations.
Piccadilly and District Line Closures
The Piccadilly line will close between King's Cross St Pancras and both Northfields and Uxbridge on Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, Friday Night Tube on June 26 will see no service between King's Cross St Pancras and Heathrow. The District line will shut between Turnham Green and Ealing Broadway on both weekend days. TfL advises passengers to use alternative Tube or Elizabeth line services, or buses.
Overground and DLR Disruptions
Three London Overground lines are affected. On Sunday, the Mildmay line will have no service between Camden Road and Stratford after 10.15pm. The Suffragette line will have no service between Gospel Oak and Barking until 9.45am, and no service between Barking and Barking Riverside all day. The Windrush line will see no service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction, with replacement buses running between Canada Water and Clapham Junction; also no service between Highbury and Islington and Dalston Junction after 10.15pm. The DLR will not run between Prince Regent and Beckton on Saturday and Sunday as the nearby depot prepares for new trains.
Busy Periods Expected
TfL has warned that the Victoria line will be extremely busy between Victoria and King's Cross St Pancras as the BST festival takes place in Hyde Park. Routes to and from Wembley will also see a surge in passengers on Friday and Saturday for Harry Styles concerts. Passengers are advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
