Rockstar Games has released the official GTA 6 Extended Look on YouTube and its own website, following a six-hour exclusive window on Netflix. The footage, which debuted on the streaming service on Thursday evening, is now available to all players, offering an unvarnished look at the highly anticipated sequel's open world.
What the Extended Look reveals
The Extended Look showcases a vast open world set in the Florida-inspired state of Leonidas, which includes a reworked Vice City. The video is raw gameplay footage, with no voiceover or narration, providing a direct view of the game's mechanics and environments without editorial commentary.
This official reveal comes after a week of leaked gameplay videos that circulated online. Rockstar had previously acknowledged the leaks, describing them as 'heartbreaking' for the development team. In a statement, the developer apologised for the game's lengthy development and the delay in sharing official gameplay, saying: 'We are very sorry that everything has taken as long as it has – from getting the game finished (nearly there!) to sharing more details and official gameplay, and providing the community with everything you want to know.'
Pre-order details and pricing
Following the Extended Look, GTA 6 is now available for pre-order on PlayStation and Xbox stores. The standard edition is priced at £69.99, while the Ultimate Edition, which includes Vice City-inspired cosmetics and exclusive in-game shops, costs £89.99. The Ultimate Edition is available only digitally.
For those preferring a physical purchase, boxed copies (containing a download code rather than a disc) are available from retailers such as Argos and Amazon at a slightly lower price of £67.99. The standard edition is also offered in physical form.
Leaks persist despite official reveal
Despite the official Extended Look, leaks have continued. An individual or group known as Cyberleek claims to have a playable build of the game and has been releasing clips daily, allegedly in protest of Rockstar not releasing GTA 6 on a disc. They have also requested cryptocurrency funding to sustain the releases.
It remains unclear whether the leaks will cease now that official footage has been shown, though many fans have noted that the leaked videos make the game look worse than the official presentation, citing both a lack of cinematic quality and the player's apparent difficulty controlling the game.
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch worldwide on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
