Extensive TfL Network Closures Scheduled for March 2026
Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed a series of temporary closures across its network for March 2026, impacting nearly every line as part of planned maintenance and upgrade works. The majority of disruptions are set to occur on weekends, with passengers advised to prepare for significant alterations to their travel routines.
Underground Line Disruptions
Several Tube lines will experience closures throughout the month. On the Bakerloo line, there will be no service from Queen’s Park to Harrow & Wealdstone on Sunday, March 1. The Circle line faces multiple weekends of disruptions, including no service from Edgware Road to Aldgate on March 1, and from Hammersmith to Tower Hill and Edgware Road to High Street Kensington on March 7-8 and March 14-15.
The District line will see closures from Earl’s Court to Whitechapel and Kensington on March 1, and from Edgware Road to High Street Kensington on March 7-8 and March 14-15. The Hammersmith & City line will be entirely closed on March 7-8, with partial closures from Edgware Road to Aldgate East on March 14-15.
Metropolitan line services will be suspended from Baker Street to Aldgate on March 7-8 and March 14-15, and from Baker Street to Wembley Park on March 28-29. The Piccadilly line will have no service from Cockfosters to Uxbridge on March 7-8 and March 21-22.
Overground Service Alterations
London Overground lines will also be affected. The Liberty line will have no service from Romford to Upminster on March 8, March 14-15, March 21-22, and March 28-29. The Lioness line will be closed from Euston to Watford Junction on March 1.
The Mildmay line faces closures from Camden Road to Stratford on March 8, from Willesden Junction to Shepherd’s Bush after 7.30pm on March 14 until midday on March 15, and from Willesden Junction to Richmond on March 29. The Suffragette line will be suspended from Woodgrange Park to Barking Riverside until 2.30pm on March 1, and from Gospel Oak to Barking Riverside on March 15.
The Weaver line will experience multiple disruptions, including no service from Hackney Downs to Chingford after 10.45pm from March 2-4, from Liverpool Street to Chingford after 12.30am on March 5, and various closures on March 15, March 16-19, March 21-22, and March 28-29. The Windrush line will have closures on March 1, March 7-8, March 15, March 23-26, and March 29 across different sections.
Elizabeth Line, DLR, and Tram Closures
The Elizabeth line will see significant disruptions, with no service from Paddington to Abbey Wood and Whitechapel to Stratford until 11.15am on March 1, and from Paddington to Ealing Broadway until 7.45am on March 1, March 8, March 15, March 22, and March 29. Additional closures include from Stratford to Shenfield on March 8, from Liverpool Street and Stratford to Shenfield on March 14-15, and from Whitechapel and Stratford to Shenfield on March 21-22.
DLR services will be affected with closures from Tower Gateway to Shadwell on March 1 and March 8, from Stratford International to Woolwich Arsenal and Poplar to Beckton on March 7-8, from Poplar to Stratford/West India Quay on March 14-15, and from Bank and Tower Gateway to Canning Town and Lewisham, and Canary Wharf to Stratford on March 28-29.
Tram services will face a fortnight-long closure from March 28 to April 12 from Sandilands to New Addington, along with other disruptions on March 7-8, including no service from Wimbledon to Therapia Lane, from East Croydon to Elmers End/Beckenham Junction/New Addington after 10pm, and from Wimbledon to East Croydon and Arena to Elmers End on March 8.
