September 2026 brings a fresh round of closures and track work across London's transport network, affecting four Underground lines and multiple Overground routes. The Windrush line on the Overground will experience the most disruption, with nine separate route alterations across the 30 days. The Suffragette line will have no service at all on Sunday, September 13.
Underground line closures
The Central, Circle, District, and Piccadilly lines all face partial suspensions or skipped stations. On the Central line, trains will not stop at Marble Arch from Saturday, September 12 to Sunday, September 13, including during Friday and Saturday Night Tube. From Friday, September 25 to Saturday, September 26, there will be no service from Marble Arch to Loughton and Hainault, via Newbury Park, during Friday Night Tube only. The following weekend, Saturday, September 26 to Sunday, September 27, sees no service from Liverpool Street to Woodford and Newbury Park, including during Saturday Night Tube.
The Circle line will have no service from Edgware Road to Aldgate, via Victoria, on the weekend of September 12-13. The District line faces three weekends of closures: September 5-6 (Edgware Road to Wimbledon), September 12-13 (Edgware Road and Tower Hill to Ealing Broadway, Kensington Olympia, Richmond, and Wimbledon), and September 19-20 (Earl's Court to Ealing Broadway and Richmond).
Piccadilly and Overground disruptions
On the Piccadilly line, trains will not stop at Earl's Court between 3.15am and 5.45am on Friday, September 11, during Friday Night Tube. The weekend of September 19-20 sees no service from Hyde Park Corner to Acton Town, and September 26-27 brings no service from Cockfosters to Uxbridge, including during Friday and Saturday Night Tube.
The Overground's Lioness line will have no service from Willesden Junction to Watford Junction until 3.15pm on Sunday, September 20, and from Euston to Kilburn High Road until midday and after 8.30pm on Sunday, September 27. The Mildmay line has multiple closures: September 13 (Willesden Junction to Richmond), September 14-17 (westbound from Stratford to Camden Road after 11.45pm), September 16-17 (eastbound from Willesden Junction to Stratford after 11pm), September 21-24 (westbound from Camden Road to Willesden Junction after 11.45pm), September 22-25 (southbound from Willesden Junction to Shepherd's Bush until 6.15am), and September 27 (Camden Road to Stratford after 10.15pm).
Windrush line and other routes
The Windrush line sees nine disruptions, including no service from Surrey Quays to Clapham Junction on September 5-6, and from Sydenham to West Croydon on September 6. The Suffragette line has no service from Gospel Oak to Woodgrange Park on September 6 and shuts entirely on September 13. The Weaver line has closures from September 1-3, September 19-20, September 26-27, and September 27-October 1, affecting services to Enfield Town, Cheshunt, and Chingford.
The Elizabeth line will have no service from Paddington to Ealing Broadway until 7.45am on September 6, and from West Drayton to Maidenhead until 8.15am on September 27. The DLR faces closures on September 19-20 (Bank to Lewisham, Tower Gateway to Canning Town, Canary Wharf to Stratford) and September 27 (Tower Gateway to Shadwell). The Tram network is running as usual throughout September, unlike in August when sections closed for more than three weeks for work on 770m of track to improve dependability and performance.
