British Transport Police have confirmed that a person was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries following an incident at Walthamstow Central Underground station this morning.
Officers were called to the station at 9.15am on Monday, September 7, following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended the scene, and the individual was subsequently transported to hospital.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious, according to the police.
Police and Paramedics Respond to Morning Incident
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “We were called to Walthamstow Central Underground station at 9.15am on 7 September to reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, and a person was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries. This incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
The nature of the injuries and the identity of the person involved have not been disclosed by authorities at this time.
Victoria Line Suspended and Severely Delayed
The incident caused significant disruption to London Underground services. Transport for London suspended the entire Victoria line for a short period while emergency services dealt with the situation.
Following the suspension, the line experienced severe delays throughout the morning as services were gradually restored.
