London Train Station Predator Receives Prison Sentence for Multiple Assaults
A dangerous predator who targeted lone women at London train stations has been jailed for nearly two years following a series of sexual assaults and stalking incidents that left victims hiding in station toilets to escape his advances.
Systematic Targeting of Vulnerable Women
Craig Anthony Anderson, 38, of no fixed address, was sentenced to one year and ten months in prison at the Old Bailey on Monday, March 23, after being convicted of four counts of sexual assault and one count of stalking. The court heard how Anderson repeatedly targeted vulnerable women traveling across London and surrounding regions between June and October 2025.
The disturbing pattern began on June 14, 2025, when Anderson followed a young woman up the stairs at Bank Underground Station just before 4pm. He insisted on speaking to her, asked for her name and phone number, and told her she looked "sexy." When she told him to leave her alone, he sexually assaulted her before sticking his tongue out and laughing as he walked away through the station.
Escalating Harassment and Intimidation
Just a week later, on June 26, Anderson approached another young woman on a train at Guildford, asking for her social media details. After exchanging phone numbers, he began harassing her with text messages for several weeks. When she declined his offer to meet up on July 15, he followed her from Epsom railway station onto the train to Victoria, verbally abusing her and attempting to snatch her belongings.
The terrified victim was forced to hide in the toilets at Canary Wharf station until Anderson finally left. He continued sending unwanted sexual messages and images to her mobile phone until his arrest in early October 2025.
Multiple Assaults Across London Stations
On August 2, Anderson approached a young woman leaving Liverpool Street station, tapping her on the arm to ask where she was going. When she refused to give him her social media details, he told her she was "being difficult" and asked to touch her. After she rejected his advances again, he sexually assaulted her before leaving the station.
Weeks later on August 29, at Westminster Underground station, Anderson approached another woman asking for directions to Finchley. He followed her up the escalator before sexually assaulting her, laughing as he turned to head back down.
Final Assault and Police Investigation
The final incident occurred on October 6 at Purley railway station, where Anderson approached a woman on the platform asking for directions to Gatwick Airport before asking personal questions. They boarded the same train and he sat next to her, asking for her mobile number and email address.
When she declined, he asked what she would do if he tried to kiss her, to which she responded she would call police. Anderson then sexually assaulted her and blocked her path as she tried to leave her seat. She eventually managed to flee the train at Redhill station.
Police Response and Court Sentencing
British Transport Police officers identified Anderson from CCTV footage, and victims picked him out in an identification parade. He was arrested at the Passport Office, where he told a civil servant he would be leaving the UK in a matter of weeks.
In the police car, Anderson made derogatory comments about the women he targeted before claiming he hadn't been at the locations of the assaults, despite clear CCTV evidence proving otherwise.
In addition to his 22-month prison sentence, Anderson received a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) prohibiting him from approaching, sitting, or standing near lone women. He also received two restraining orders.
Police Statement on the Case
Detective Constable Libby Wildego stated: "Anderson is a dangerous predator who preyed on women for his own sexual gratification. Just as he did throughout the assaults themselves, when we questioned him under caution he smirked throughout and offered no comment, highlighting the sheer lack of remorse for his actions."
"It is thanks to the brave victims who came forward and supported our investigation that we have seen Anderson sentenced for his horrific crimes. Despite his own behaviour in court where he voluntarily left before he received his sentence, I hope this result provides some sense of comfort for the victims."
The British Transport Police emphasized that anyone who experiences or witnesses a sexual offence on a train or at a station should report it by texting 61016, assuring that every report is taken seriously and that they will work tirelessly to bring sexual offenders to justice.
