London transport closures August 2025: Full Tube, Overground, Tram disruption
August 2025 London transport closures: full list

Transport for London (TfL) has revealed a packed schedule of closures and disruptions across the capital's transport network for August 2025. The most significant impact will be on the Tram network, which will close in sections for more than three weeks starting August 5, to allow crews to replace 770 meters of track. This investment aims to improve reliability and performance, according to TfL.

Tram network: three-week closure for track replacement

From August 5, sections of the Tram network will be closed, with the most extensive works between Reeves Corner and East Croydon. These closures will last until August 30, affecting services to Elmers End, New Addington, Beckenham Junction, and Therapia Lane. Mark Davis, general manager for London Trams, said: "We know these closures will affect some customers and we’re sorry for the disruption, but this investment is essential to maintaining a safe and reliable tram network. By replacing key sections of track in one of the busiest parts of the network, we’ll help improve reliability and reduce unplanned disruption for the millions of journeys made through Croydon each year."

Underground line closures: full list

Several Tube lines will experience weekend and overnight closures throughout August. The Piccadilly line faces the most disruption, with multiple closures between Cockfosters and Heathrow/Uxbridge on the first weekend of August and later in the month. On August 22, many lines will have reduced services until late morning, including the Circle, District, Hammersmith & City, and Metropolitan lines. The Northern line will see closures on the High Barnet branch over the August bank holiday weekend.
