After a rare weekend with no major planned disruption on TfL services, Londoners face significant closures on August 1-2 2026. The Piccadilly line will be fully closed for part of the weekend, alongside changes on the DLR and Overground lines.
Piccadilly Line
On Saturday August 1 and Sunday August 2, the entire line will be closed between 12.30am and 4.30am. Additionally, no trains will run between Cockfosters and Heathrow from 4am to end of service on both days. Trains will still operate between Acton Town and Uxbridge. Westbound trains will not call at Barons Court until November; passengers should travel one stop east to Earls Court and change trains. Finsbury Park station is closed all weekend.
DLR and Overground Disruptions
On Sunday August 2, the DLR will have no trains between Tower Gateway and Shadwell. The Lioness line (Overground) will have no trains between Euston and Kilburn High Road before midday or after 8.30pm. The Windrush line (Overground) will have no trains between Clapham Junction and Wandsworth Road, with trains diverting to Battersea Park after Wandsworth Road. The Mildmay line (Overground) will have no service between Camden Road and Stratford after 10.15pm.
Other Changes
The District line will also see westbound trains not calling at Barons Court until November; passengers should go one stop east to West Kensington and change trains. The Waterloo and City line remains closed on weekends and bank holidays as usual.
