Two teens killed in Hurst Green Tesla crash

Two teenagers have been killed and a third is fighting for his life following a devastating single-vehicle crash in a quiet East Sussex village. The incident, involving a white Tesla, occurred on Saturday night and has led to a man's arrest on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Details of the Hurst Green Collision

Emergency services were called to Holland Road, near the junction with Popes Lane in Hurst Green, at shortly before 10pm on Saturday, 20 December 2025. Reports indicated a car had left the road and struck a tree with significant force.

Upon arrival, police, ambulance crews, and three fire engines from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service found a scene of severe devastation. Two men, both in their late teens, were pronounced dead at the location. A third man, also in his late teens, was extracted from the vehicle with life-threatening injuries and rushed to hospital. The driver of the car, who sustained serious injuries, was also taken to hospital for treatment.

Police Investigation and Arrest

In response to the tragedy, Surrey Police have arrested a 30-year-old man from Oxfed. He remains in custody on suspicion of causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving.

Holland Road was sealed off for a full forensic examination and remained closed throughout Sunday afternoon. Authorities anticipated the closure would last for several more hours as investigators worked to piece together the exact sequence of events.

In a public appeal, a police spokesperson stated: ‘We are asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision to get in touch. We are also seeking CCTV, dashcam, or helmet cam footage that may have captured all or part of this incident.’

Local Concerns and Community Impact

The crash has sent shockwaves through the local community. Some residents expressed concerns that the route has become an accident hotspot, with one commenting online about another recent incident where a car went through a hedge and rolled over on nearby Popes Lane.

‘That road is so dangerous,’ one local wrote. ‘A tragedy for all concerned, a terrible thing to happen.’

The investigation, led by Surrey Police's serious collision investigation unit, continues as they work to establish the cause of the crash that has left two families in mourning and a third in anxious vigil at a hospital bedside.
