Tragic Collision Claims Lives of Two Young Mothers
The communities of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire are in mourning today after two young mothers were killed in a devastating car crash that also left a nine-year-old boy with life-changing injuries.
Amie Pearson, aged 26, and Chelsea Carlisle, aged 29, lost their lives in the collision that occurred on Common Lane in Pleasley at approximately 6:20am on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
According to Derbyshire Police, the crash involved a Vauxhall Meriva and a Suzuki Alto on the border between the two counties. Ms Pearson, who was driving the Suzuki, and her passenger Ms Carlisle were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Community Mourns as Families Pay Emotional Tributes
The tragic incident has prompted an outpouring of grief from loved ones, with heartfelt tributes appearing on social media and fundraising pages.
Chelsea's partner, Georgia, shared an emotional tribute on Facebook featuring a photograph of the couple in a tender embrace. She wrote: 'I love you my beautiful lady! I'll never stop missing or loving you! You were my person and I'm gutted it's ended this way. It's not goodbye, it's simply see you later.'
A family statement on a GoFundMe page established for Chelsea described her as 'our beautiful and beloved' and highlighted the devastating impact on her wife Georgia and their young son, Reuben.
Meanwhile, Ms Pearson's family released their own statement, calling her 'a beautiful mother, daughter, sister and auntie' and revealing that she leaves behind two young children, one of whom suffered life-altering injuries in the collision.
Police Investigation and Ongoing Consequences
The nine-year-old boy, believed to be Amie Pearson's son, was also in the Suzuki and sustained serious, life-changing injuries. He was transported to hospital where he remains receiving treatment.
Police confirmed that three men travelling in the Vauxhall Meriva were also injured, two of them seriously.
An 18-year-old male was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Due to injuries he sustained in the collision, he was also taken to hospital where he remains under police guard.
Derbyshire Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward, stating: 'We remain keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, as well as anyone who has any information.'
Detectives confirmed that all families involved have been notified and that their thoughts remain with them during this difficult time.
The community has rallied around both families, with fundraising efforts underway to support them through the tragic loss and to help cover funeral expenses and ongoing care for the injured children.
