Stockholm Bus Crash Leaves Multiple Casualties
A serious traffic incident in central Stockholm has resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries after a bus collided with a bus stop on Friday, 14th November 2025. The crash occurred on Valhallavägen street, near the city's University of Technology, at approximately 16:45 local time.
Emergency Response and Investigation
According to Swedish police, emergency services including rescue teams and ambulances were immediately dispatched to the scene. A police spokesperson confirmed there are both "injured and deceased" among the victims, though the exact numbers have not been officially released. The spokesperson for Stockholm's rescue services stated that six people were affected by the incident.
The area has been completely cordoned off, with Valhallavägen closed between Odengatan and Engelbrektsgatan to facilitate the emergency operation and investigation. Police emphasised that the bus driver has been arrested, describing this as a routine procedure in such serious incidents.

Authorities have confirmed they are investigating the crash as involuntary manslaughter and have stated they currently have no information suggesting this was a deliberate attack. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson expressed his concern in a post on X, stating: "We do not yet know the cause of this, but right now my thoughts are foremost with those who have been affected and their families."
Notably, the spokesperson for the rescue services confirmed that there were no passengers on the bus at the time of the incident. Police continue to work at the scene as the investigation into the cause of this tragic accident continues.
