A murder investigation is underway following a fatal multi-vehicle collision in North West London that claimed the life of a 34-year-old man.
Fatal Collision Near Magistrates' Court
Ruben Nunes, 34, from Peterborough, was pronounced dead at the scene on Chapel Close, Willesden. The incident occurred at approximately 12.45pm on Wednesday, 3 December, close to Willesden Magistrates' Court.
Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service, London's Air Ambulance, and the London Fire Brigade, rushed to the junction with Chantry Crescent. Despite extensive efforts from paramedics, Mr Nunes could not be saved.
Arrest and Appeal for Information
In a significant development, detectives from the Metropolitan Police arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of murder on Thursday, 4 December. He remains in custody for questioning.
Another man, also in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams described the event as a "distressing incident" and extended condolences to the family and friends of Ruben Nunes. He confirmed the local community would see an increased police presence in the coming days as the investigation progresses.

Second Tragic Death in Brent This Week
This tragedy marks the second violent death in the London Borough of Brent within three days. On Monday, 1 December, a 22-year-old man died in hospital after a stabbing on High Road, Wembley.
Kevon Jenkins, 22, of Brent, has been charged with murder and possession of a pointed and bladed article in connection with that case. Police have stated there is no evidence to suggest the two deaths are linked.
Authorities continue to appeal for witnesses and any relevant footage from the Chapel Close collision as they work to establish the full circumstances leading to the fatal crash.
