A man in his 60s has been killed following a serious collision on the M25 motorway close to Orpington in Kent.
Emergency Response to Fatal Incident
Kent Police were called to the clockwise carriageway at 4.35pm on Wednesday, December 17, following reports of a crash. The incident involved a white Ford Transit van and a BMW motorbike near junction four of the orbital motorway.
Officers attended alongside colleagues from Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the South East Coast Ambulance Service. Despite the efforts of emergency crews, the male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Ongoing Police Investigation
The driver of the van was located at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries. The investigation has now been taken over by the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU).
Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the vehicles involved prior to the incident, to come forward. They are particularly keen to obtain any CCTV or dashcam footage that may have captured the events.

The fatal crash caused significant disruption on the M25 during the Wednesday evening rush hour, with long delays reported on the clockwise carriageway while emergency services worked at the scene.
