Former Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood has been charged with two additional sexual offences, bringing the total number of alleged victims to nine. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) authorised the new charges on September 22, 2026, following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
The 68-year-old is accused of indecently assaulting a 16 or 17-year-old girl in Hammersmith and Fulham in 1991 and sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman in Wandsworth in May 2004. Westwood already faces multiple allegations of sexual offences involving seven women.
CPS confirms new charges against Westwood
Catherine P Baccas, deputy chief crown prosecutor in CPS London, said: "Today the Crown Prosecution Service has authorised two further charges of sexual assault and indecent assault against Tim Westwood."
"These new charges, following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police, relate to separate reports of non-recent offences in 1991 and 2004 involving two additional women," Baccas added. "Our prosecutors have worked to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring these additional charges to court and that it is in the public interest to pursue further criminal proceedings."
Westwood will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court at a future date, according to the CPS.

Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy, from the Metropolitan Police Service, said: "The women who have made reports have placed their trust in us, and we remain committed to providing them with all available support."
The new charges follow Westwood's initial charging in October last year. He denies all allegations against him.

Westwood now faces nine counts of indecent assault, two counts of sexual assault, and four counts of rape, relating to incidents reported between 1983 and 2016. The charges include four indecent assaults in London during the 1980s, three more at the BBC in the 1990s, and the alleged rape of a woman in a hotel in 1996.
He also faces two indecent assaults and one count of rape from the early 2000s at a London address, and two further counts of rape at a London address in the 2010s. Westwood is additionally accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a nightclub in Stroud, Gloucestershire, in 2010.
Westwood has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is due to face trial in January 2027. The Metropolitan Police investigation remains ongoing, with support available to all women who have made reports.
