Man charged after fatal Willesden collision kills pedestrian

A 29-year-old man has been charged following a fatal road traffic collision in North West London last week, which resulted in the death of a pedestrian.

Details of the Willesden Incident

Police and paramedics were called to Chapel Close in Willesden at 12.44pm on Wednesday, 3 December. The emergency services responded to reports of a collision involving a car and pedestrians.

Tragically, a man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been formally identified as Robin Nunes, aged 34, from Peterborough. Specialist officers are supporting his family.

Police Investigation and Charges

An immediate investigation was launched by detectives. As a result, Shakaine Dwyer, 29, of Willesden, was arrested and subsequently charged on Sunday, 7 December.

He faces a single charge of causing death by dangerous driving. Dwyer is scheduled to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 8 December.

In a related development, a 32-year-old man was also arrested on Thursday, 4 December, on suspicion of assisting an offender. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
