M25 Chase: Driver Told Police 'My Girl Cheated on Me'

A South London man who led police on a 130mph M25 chase told officers 'my girl just cheated on me' during his arrest. BMW driver Mudassir Sandhu was caught by police close to junction 10 in March last year after he was slowed down by a 'stinger' device.

In footage released by the Metropolitan Police, officers can be seen pursuing the 24-year-old before smashing a window of his BMW X1 and hauling him out. Sandhu then asks why he's being "beaten up", before the cop responds "because you're driving like an absolute imbecile" - adding "you've driven like an idiot."

High-Speed Chase and Arrest

The dangerous driver was also observed using nitrous oxide balloons and switching vehicle lights off during the chase. Asked why he was using balloons, he responds "I've got depression, alright. Listen, my girl literally just cheated on me, man." The officer says: "And this is your appropriate response to that? You're an imbecile."

Sandhu was caught travelling at 130mph on the M25, according to police. The chase ended when officers deployed a stinger device to puncture his tyres, forcing the vehicle to stop.

Job Loss and Sentencing

Later, Sandhu reveals that the car he's driving was a "work car," before asking: "I've lost my job, innit?" to which the officer responds: "yeah, damn right."

Sandhu, from Morden, South London, was charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison at Guildford Crown Court in June. He was also disqualified from driving for four months and ordered to pay a £187 fine.

Police found nitrous oxide balloons after hauling Sandhu from the vehicle, which were seized as evidence. The incident highlights the dangers of reckless driving and the consequences of such behaviour.
