Holly Willoughby fined over moped collision in London

Television presenter Holly Willoughby has been handed a financial penalty and driving licence points after she admitted her role in a road traffic incident that left a moped rider injured.

Court Hearing and Penalty

The 44-year-old star pleaded guilty by post to a charge of driving without due care and attention. The case was heard at Lavender Hill Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 2 December 2025, though Willoughby did not attend the hearing in person.

According to the Metropolitan Police, the court ordered Willoughby to pay a fine of £1,653. In addition, she must pay £130 in costs and a victim surcharge of £661. The magistrate also endorsed her driving licence with six penalty points.

Details of the Barnes Collision

The incident that led to the charge occurred on 28 August in southwest London. Court documents state that Willoughby was driving her Mini Cooper near her home in Richmond when the collision took place.

Police were called to Church Road in Barnes following reports of an accident between a car and a moped. The rider of the moped, a 43-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that his injuries were assessed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

Willoughby's Career Context

Holly Willoughby is best known for presenting ITV's Dancing On Ice and was a long-standing host of the broadcaster's flagship daytime programme, This Morning, until her departure in October 2023. The case comes after what the presenter has previously described as a 'tough' year.

This legal outcome serves as a reminder of the consequences of careless driving on London's roads, regardless of a driver's public profile.
