Seven roads across the London Borough of Hillingdon will be closed at various points over the coming weeks to allow utility companies to carry out essential maintenance, with the longest single closure lasting 16 days. The affected streets are located in Ruislip, Uxbridge, Hayes, and Pinner, and the closures will run until Thursday, October 1.
Ruislip and Uxbridge: Gas Main Replacement and Repairs
The most extended closure affects Oak Grove in Ruislip, which will be shut from 8am on Monday, August 31, between the junctions of Elm Avenue and Linden Avenue. This is to allow Cadent Gas to replace a gas main. A diversion will operate via Elm Avenue, Field End Road, and Southbourne Gardens, with the road reopening at 5pm on Sunday, September 13.
In Uxbridge, two roads will close for utility repairs by Cadent Gas. Ashdown Road will be closed from 8am on Monday, August 31, until 5pm on Tuesday, September 15, between the junctions of Charnwood Road and Long Lane. Long Lane itself will also be closed from outside number 15 to number 121 during the same period, also for Cadent Gas repair works.
Hayes and Pinner: Telecoms, Gas, and Water Works
Golden Crescent in Hayes will be closed for one week, from 8am on Wednesday, September 16, until 5pm on Wednesday, September 23, to enable telecoms work. The closure affects the section from the junction of Printing House Lane.
Abbotsbury Gardens in Pinner will close for 13 days, from 8am on Monday, September 21, until 5pm on Sunday, October 4, for gas works repairs. The road will be shut from the junction of Field End Road, with a diversion via Rushdene Road, Deane Croft Road, and Field End Road.
Further Closures and No Diversion Routes
Hurstfield Crescent in Hayes will be closed from 8am on Monday, September 28, until 5pm on Wednesday, September 30, as Affinity Water carries out water main repairs. The closure runs from the junction of Balmoral Drive, and no diversion route has been put in place.
The Close in Pinner will also see a short closure from 8am on Tuesday, September 29, until 5pm on Thursday, October 1, from the junction of Mayfly Close, for water main repairs. No diversion route is available for this closure either.
Drivers in the affected areas are advised to plan their journeys in advance and follow the signed diversion routes where provided. The closures are part of scheduled utility maintenance and are expected to conclude by October 1.
