A 10-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital following a serious road traffic collision in North West London. The incident occurred on Sunday morning, January 25, at approximately 8.30am on Honeypot Lane in Stanmore.

Critical Condition Following Morning Incident

The young boy was reportedly crossing the road on his scooter when he was struck by a vehicle. Emergency services rushed to the scene and the child was transported to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. The collision has left the local community in shock and raised serious concerns about road safety in the area.

Driver Arrested and Bailed

The driver involved in the incident, a 28-year-old man, stopped at the scene following the collision. He was subsequently arrested by Metropolitan Police officers on suspicion of drug driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The suspect has since been interviewed under caution and released on bail pending further investigation.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urgently appealing for witnesses and any available footage that might assist their investigation. Detective Sergeant Nush Puvitharan stated: "Firstly, our thoughts are with this young boy and his loved ones at this very difficult time. A family had their lives turned upside down during a Sunday morning walk and our team are now working around the clock to piece together what happened."
