London is bracing for significant travel disruption this weekend, July 4-5 2026, with the Hammersmith & City and District lines among the most severely impacted. The Piccadilly line, however, will operate normally after several weekends of closures.
Hammersmith & City Line
On Saturday July 4 and Sunday July 5, there will be no service on the entire Hammersmith & City line. Additionally, c2c trains will not run between Fenchurch Street and West Ham.
District Line
On both days, no trains will run between Tower Hill and Upminster.
DLR
The Docklands Light Railway will have no service between Prince Regent and Beckton on July 4 and 5.
Mildmay Line (Overground)
From 7:30pm on Saturday July 4 until 12pm on Sunday July 5, no trains will run between Shepherd's Bush and Willesden Junction. A reduced service will operate between Clapham Junction and Shepherd's Bush during this period.
Waterloo & City Line
As usual, the Waterloo & City line will be closed on weekends and bank holidays.
Despite the disruptions, London offers plenty of attractions this weekend, including the Tate's new Frida Kahlo exhibition, BST Hyde Park, World Cup events, and the final shows of Harry Styles' Wembley residency. Travelers are advised to plan ahead using the latest transport updates.
