Lidl has revived its popular Bakery Spin promotion, allowing Lidl Plus Points members to earn a free bakery item with any purchase of just 1p or more. The offer is available from now until 11:59pm on August 19, 2026, and marks the return of one of the scheme's most beloved perks.
How the Bakery Spin Works
To participate, shoppers need a Lidl Plus membership and must make a minimum purchase of 1p. After scanning the app at checkout, a digital bakery spin game will appear on the home screen, though it may take up to 24 hours to show. Players have seven days to play the game, and every spin guarantees a free bakery item, with a prize coupon sent shortly after.
The promotion can be played multiple times, but not on the same day – shoppers must wait at least one day between purchases to earn another spin. This allows frequent visitors to enjoy multiple free treats throughout the promotional period.
What Can You Win?
Winners receive a choice between two or three randomly selected bakery items, depending on stock availability. The list of potential freebies includes a Large French Baguette, All Butter Croissant, Brownie, Almond Croissant, Apple Turnover, Baked Cookies Assorted, Belgian Bun, Cheese Pretzel Roll, Chocolate Cronut, Chocolate Hazelnut Doughnut, Focaccia Pizza Pepperoni, Demi Baguette, Filled Muffins Assorted, Jam Filled Doughnut, Maple and Pecan Plait, Belgian Choc Cookie Assorted, Pink Iced Ring Doughnut, Pretzel, Rosemary and Sea Salt Focaccia Roll, Toffee Filled Yum Yum, and Vegetable Pizza Slice.
Shopper Reactions
Online, the promotion has been dubbed 'the ultimate Lidl hack', 'a real bargain', 'amazing', and 'fab'. Some customers have shared tips for meeting the minimum spend without a full shop, with the most common being to buy a single carrot for around 5p. Others purchase a single banana for less than 15p at breakfast time, enjoying fruit alongside their free pastry.
According to Lidl, the Bakery Spin is part of the revamped Lidl Plus Points scheme, which now awards one point per £1 spent. While some shoppers previously called the changes 'a slap in the face', the return of Bakery Spin has been welcomed by many.
