Free Santander Cycles every Sunday in July for Londoners

Londoners and visitors can enjoy free one-hour Santander Cycles rides every Sunday in July 2026, as Transport for London brings back its popular Cycle Sundays scheme. The initiative, first launched in 2024, aims to promote healthy and sustainable travel across the capital.

How to get free passes

On each Sunday from July 5 to July 26, users can download the Santander Cycles app and enter TfL promo codes to obtain a free day pass, normally costing £3.50. The pass allows unlimited rides of up to 60 minutes within a 24-hour period. The codes are: CYCLEJULY5 (July 5), CYCLEJULY12 (July 12), CYCLEJULY19 (July 19), and CYCLEJULY26 (July 26). Passes can be redeemed at any of 800 docking stations across London.

Expanded cycle network

To encourage cycling, TfL has curated 50 routes of up to 10 miles, including park rides in Hampstead Heath and Primrose Hill, and a cycleway loop between Clapham Common and Battersea Power Station. London now boasts over 441km of strategic cycle routes, up from 90km in 2016—a nearly fivefold increase. TfL plans to invest an additional £94.8m in cycling infrastructure before March 2027.

Official support

Will Norman, the Mayor of London’s Walking and Cycling Commissioner, said: “I’m delighted that TfL Cycle Sundays is back, and this year it’s bigger and better than ever, so even more Londoners and visitors can enjoy exploring our great city by bike. Cycling is a fantastic way to get around London, especially now that we’ve grown our Cycleways network by nearly five times, helping people of all abilities to cycle safely across the capital. The Mayor and I encourage everyone—especially those new to cycling—to take up these free Sunday bike rides and to use our cycle routes to travel around our great city as we continue building a safer, greener, better London for all.”
