Several road closures will disrupt residents of Harrow throughout August while major utility works are carried out. Water works on Morland Avenue in Kenton will finally end on August 24, having been closed to motorists since April. While some closures last only a few days, others extend for weeks, including Blythwood Road in Hatch End, which will be shut from August 10 to October 30 for water works.
Closures by Area
In Edgware, Bacon Lane is closed from June 27 to August 10 for gas works, and Oakleigh Avenue will close from August 3 to August 28 for water works. In Pinner, Cecil Park is closed from July 27 to August 31 for road maintenance. In Hatch End, besides Blythwood Road, Marsworth Avenue will close from August 31 to September 11 for water works.
Short-Term Closures
Several roads face brief closures. In Harrow Weald, Whitefriars Drive is closed from August 3 to August 5 for water works, Fontwell Close from July 27 to August 28 for gas works, and Carmelite Road will close on August 25 from 9:30am to 3:30pm for water works. In Rayners Lane, Village Way closes on August 23 from 9:30am to midnight for water works, and Highfield Avenue from August 24 to August 27.
South Harrow and Kenton
In South Harrow, St Johns Road closes from August 19 to August 21 for telecoms works, Gayton Road from July 28 to August 3 for water works, and Northwick Avenue from July 28 to August 3. In Kenton, Willowcourt Avenue and Upton Gardens are closed from July 16 to August 10 for water works, Sedgecombe Avenue from August 6 to August 28, Totternhoe Close from August 14 to August 15, and Morland Avenue from April 28 to August 24.
Wealdstone
In Wealdstone, Rusland Park Road closes from June 2 to August 10 for gas works, Marlborough Hill from July 17 to August 25, and Princes Drive from July 28 to August 24 for water works. The closures could cause traffic disruption, with lane closures on major roads potentially leading to long delays, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
