Shocking footage has emerged showing the terrifying moment a Birmingham bus driver came under attack from a youth armed with a makeshift firework rocket launcher, sending passengers scrambling for safety.
The incident, captured on the bus's onboard CCTV system, shows the vehicle being deliberately targeted as it travelled along a residential street in the city. The attacker can be seen aiming what appears to be a modified launcher device directly at the bus before firing a powerful firework.
Panic on Board
Passengers reported hearing a loud explosion as the firework struck the vehicle, causing immediate panic among those on board. The driver was forced to bring the bus to an emergency stop as people rushed to move away from windows and seek cover.
"It sounded like a bomb going off," one shaken passenger later told authorities. "Everyone was screaming and ducking for cover. We thought we were being shot at."
