Bermondsey burst water main blocks 2 roads, diverts buses

Two roads in South London remain blocked following a burst water main that caused significant flooding overnight. Tooley Street and Jamaica Road have been closed since 10:30 pm on Monday, July 21, according to Thames Water.

Bus routes diverted

Three London bus routes — the 47, 188, and 381 — have been diverted to avoid the affected area. Passengers are advised to check for alternative stops and expect delays.

Repair work ongoing

London Fire Brigade and Thames Water engineers worked through the night to address the burst main. While water supply has been restored to most households, residents may experience low pressure during peak usage times. Both roads will remain closed until repairs are complete.
