British Transport Police (BTP) have launched an investigation after a woman was sexually assaulted on a rush hour train departing London Victoria. The incident occurred between Victoria and Tulse Hill at approximately 5:50pm on Monday, June 29.
Details of the assault
The female passenger reported that a man sat next to her and began making unwanted contact before sexually assaulting her. The suspect moved away when he noticed other passengers looking over and has not yet been traced.
BTP is now releasing a photo of a man they believe may have information that could assist their enquiries. The image shows a middle-aged White man of average build with a shaved head, wearing a black t-shirt and navy jeans.
Appeal for information
Anyone who recognises the man is urged to contact BTP. In a statement, the force said: "Officers believe the man in the image could have information that may assist their enquiries."
Separately, police are also investigating an upskirting incident at Tottenham Court Road station last week. A female passenger challenged a man who was reportedly filming two young girls and followed him until he left the busy interchange.
