Police are appealing for help from South London residents after a man was brutally stabbed on Acre Lane, leaving him fighting for his life. The victim, a 33-year-old man, was found with life-threatening injuries shortly after 2am on Saturday, May 2. He has since stabilized after being rushed to the hospital.
Details of the Attack
The Metropolitan Police reviewed CCTV footage and identified a black BMW 330E estate, registration FM21 UKW, which was driven to Acre Lane at 2am before speeding off towards Clapham Park Road at 2:15am. The footage also captured three suspects. The stabbing occurred on the same morning as a shooting on Coldharbour Lane that left a 25-year-old man dead and four others injured.
Police Appeal for Footage
Detective Sergeant Daniel Beek, leading the investigation, said: “This brutal attack almost claimed the life of a young man. My team and I are determined to find those responsible and urge anyone with information to contact us. The incident took place in an incredibly busy area. There were cars on the road – which hopefully means relevant dashcam footage – and we believe residents may have doorbell cameras pointing towards the street.”
“If you were in or live in Acre Lane, Clapham Park Road, or the surrounding areas of Kings Avenue, please do get in touch via 101, or share footage directly through our public portal. No piece of information is too small.”
How to Help
Anyone with information can contact the Met on 101, quoting reference 907/2MAY. Residents are encouraged to check their dashcams and doorbell cameras for any footage that might assist the investigation.
