A man in his 70s has died after being struck by a car in Cheam, South London, on Saturday morning. The pedestrian was taken to hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.

Collision Details

The incident occurred on Belmont Rise in Cheam shortly after 11am on June 20. The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, remained at the scene and has been cooperating with authorities. No arrests have been made, police confirmed.

Detective Constable Caroline Landy, from the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of victim at this extremely difficult time.”

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant information to come forward. They are particularly interested in any CCTV or dashcam footage that may have captured the incident.
