FlixBus Announces Major London Expansion with New Airport and City Routes

Coach giant FlixBus is embarking on a significant expansion of its London network, introducing a series of new direct services to Heathrow and Gatwick airports, along with multiple cities across the United Kingdom. The expansion, timed just before the Easter holiday period, offers passengers affordable travel options with fares starting from as little as £4.49.

New Direct Routes Launching in April and May

From April 1, FlixBus will commence daily direct services connecting London to several newly added destinations. Passengers will be able to travel to and from the capital from Doncaster, Blackpool, Halifax, Huddersfield, and York. This marks the first time these cities and towns have been integrated into the FlixBus network with direct London connections.

In May, the expansion will continue with the introduction of first-ever direct services from Essex and Suffolk into London. New routes will launch from Colchester, Chelmsford, and Ipswich, broadening the coach operator's reach in the eastern regions of England.

Enhanced Airport Connectivity and Frequency Increases

The expansion includes improved airport connectivity, with new direct routes to Heathrow and Gatwick. Heathrow Airport will gain new direct connections from Brighton, as well as daily services from York. Meanwhile, Gatwick Airport will see new direct routes launching from Leeds and Sheffield, providing travelers with more convenient options for air travel connections.

FlixBus is also increasing service frequency on several popular existing routes to accommodate Easter demand. Additional services will be added for destinations including Leicester, Sheffield, Leeds, Bournemouth, and Bath, ensuring more flexible travel options for passengers during the busy holiday period.

Affordable Travel Options and Company Vision

All promotional fares starting from £4.49 are available until April 30 for travel between April 13 and June 30. Sarah Bartlett, PR Lead for FlixBus UK, emphasized the company's commitment to revolutionizing coach travel, stating: "Five years ago, we set out with a bold ambition to revolutionise coach travel, and with a network of over 100 destinations, it's clear passengers have fallen in love with FlixBus!"

Bartlett added: "We're offering tickets for less than a fiver for Londoners ahead of the Easter break, to bring even more joy to travellers using our affordable, comfortable and reliable services."

The expansion brings FlixBus's domestic network to cover over 100 destinations across the UK, solidifying its position as a major player in the coach travel industry.
