Five Guys Opens First UK Airport Restaurant at Heathrow

Burger enthusiasts and travellers have a new reason to celebrate as Five Guys officially opens its doors at Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5. This landmark opening marks the first time the popular burger brand has established a presence within a UK or European airport.

A New Dining Destination for Travellers

The new 2,500 square feet restaurant is strategically located on the upper level of the terminal and is committed to serving passengers from the first to the last flight, every single day of the year. The venue will offer a full daytime menu alongside breakfast options, ensuring a fresh meal is available no matter the departure time. The restaurant has created 125 new jobs for the terminal and can accommodate 90 diners, with a dedicated takeaway option for those in a hurry.

Cutting-Edge Technology and Airport-Tailored Features

This location is setting a new standard for the brand, being one of the first stores to feature fully digital menu boards. It is also the pioneer for the new 'Order Ready' screens, designed to streamline the collection process. Understanding the diverse clientele of an international hub, Five Guys Heathrow has installed an increased number of ordering kiosks available in six different languages.

Other exclusive enhancements include a dedicated Welcome Host to greet passengers and travel-friendly design elements. Staying true to its core promise, the restaurant maintains no freezers on site, guaranteeing that 100% of the menu is prepared fresh. With free toppings, customers can still choose from over 250,000 possible burger combinations.

Executive Excitement and Future Vision

John Eckbert, CEO of Five Guys UK, expressed his delight, stating: "We're thrilled to announce this opening and bring our iconic burgers to the UK's busiest travel hub. Travellers will be able to find a truly fresh meal to satisfy their cravings."

Echoing this sentiment, Fraser Brown, Retail Director at Heathrow, commented: "We are delighted to welcome Five Guys. The arrival of the first Five Guys in a UK and European airport reflects our commitment to providing passengers with greater choice and quality. This is another example of our retail business working to make every journey better."

Founded in Virginia in 1986, Five Guys first arrived in the UK in 2013 in London's Covent Garden and has since become a firm favourite across the country.
