The mother, known online as 'Mummytee,' discovered the theft upon returning home from visiting her mother on Sunday, February 22. She found that the custom-built wheelchair, designed specifically for her son Teon, had been taken from what she described as a secure private garage. The wheelchair features a white base and may still have British Airways flight tags attached from a recent family holiday, along with personal identifying details.
A Mother's Emotional Appeal
In an emotional TikTok video that has since garnered widespread attention, the mother expressed her frustration and sadness. "This isn't just equipment," she wrote in the video's caption. "This is his independence. His mobility. His freedom. Without it, my son cannot go out or live his normal life."
She described the moment of discovery: "How have I come home from my mum's house and my son's wheelchair is stolen? How does that make sense?" The mother immediately sought help from building management, requesting CCTV footage, but was told they could not provide it to her directly.

The theft has had immediate and severe consequences for the family. "Without it, I'd have to carry him around," the mother explained in her video. "He's an active user who depends on this wheelchair for his daily activities and independence."
