A significant fire broke out early this morning behind a Jewish supermarket in Golders Green, prompting a large response from the London Fire Brigade. Ten fire engines and dozens of firefighters were dispatched to the scene on Golders Green Road after calls were received at approximately 6:47 AM.
Fire at Commercial Premises
The blaze originated at commercial premises situated behind Kosher Kingdom, a well-known Jewish supermarket in the area. The London Fire Brigade has confirmed that the cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. Crews from Finchley, Willesden, West Hampstead, and surrounding fire stations have been mobilized to combat the flames.
Smoke and Safety Advice
The fire is affecting a three-storey building, with a shop on the ground floor and residential or commercial units above. Thick smoke is billowing from the structure, leading authorities to advise local residents to keep their windows and doors closed. Road closures are in effect on Golders Green Road and near the junction with Beverley Gardens. Residents are urged to avoid the area to allow emergency services to operate effectively.
