Daniel Farke is optimistic about Pascal Struijk's availability for Leeds United's final Premier League match against West Ham, but confirmed that midfielder Anton Stach will miss the trip to London due to a foot injury.
Struijk returns to training
Struijk missed the 1-0 victory over Brighton last weekend because of a hip issue. However, the defender has resumed training and could feature in the crucial encounter at the London Stadium. 'We have Pascal Struijk back in training, so let's see how his body reacts. Hopefully he is available,' Farke stated in his pre-match press conference.
Stach sidelined
Stach was substituted in the second half against Brighton after sustaining a foot injury. Farke confirmed the midfielder will not be fit for Sunday's game but emphasized the problem is not severe. 'Bad news is that he is not available for this game. Good news is it is not a major injury. He just needs to be stitched anyhow. If the game were next Wednesday or Thursday, he would be available,' Farke explained.
Other injury concerns
Leeds continue to grapple with a lengthy injury list. Jayden Bogle could make his return after training, but Ilia Gruev, Gabi Gudmundsson, Noah Okafor, and Sean Longstaff are all ruled out. Longstaff recently underwent hernia surgery. Farke acknowledged the challenges but remained confident: 'In the last game against Brighton, we found a way to win this game. We will try to do more or less similar on Sunday.'
Match context
Leeds are unbeaten in their last eight league matches and could finish as high as 11th with a victory. West Ham, sitting in the relegation zone, must beat Leeds and hope Everton defeats Tottenham to secure an unlikely escape from the drop.
