Juventus Target Man Utd's Mazraoui & Liverpool's Chiesa in January Raid
Juventus target Man Utd and Liverpool stars for transfers

Italian giants Juventus have set their sights on the Premier League in a bid to revitalise their squad, with two familiar faces topping their January shopping list.

Spalletti's Turin Rebuild Targets Premier League

Under veteran manager Luciano Spalletti, who took charge in October 2024, Juventus are looking to strengthen after a mixed start to the Serie A season. Currently sitting fifth, they remain within striking distance of the summit, just six points off the top spot.

According to reports from the respected Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Turin club are prioritising a new wide forward and a full-back. Their search has led them directly to two players currently plying their trade in England's top flight.

Chiesa's Anfield Exit on the Cards?

Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa has emerged as Juventus's primary target to bolster their attack. The Old Lady are keen to bring the 28-year-old Italy international back to the club he left for Anfield in 2024.

Chiesa's time on Merseyside has been hampered by injuries and intense competition for places. He managed only 14 appearances in his debut season and, while more involved this campaign with 20 outings, he has not cemented a starting role.

Negotiations are now underway, but there is a clear divergence in the clubs' preferred terms. Juventus are pushing for a loan deal, while Liverpool are only interested in a permanent sale. Given the Reds initially paid just £10 million, plus £2.5 million in add-ons, a transfer this month is considered a distinct possibility.

Mazraoui Back on Juventus's Radar

The second name on Juventus's list is Manchester United's versatile defender Noussair Mazraoui. The 28-year-old Moroccan, currently away at the African Cup of Nations, joined United from Bayern Munich in 2024.

He enjoyed a solid first season at Old Trafford, making 57 appearances across all competitions. His second campaign has been disrupted by injuries, limiting him to nine Premier League games so far.

Interest from Turin is not new; Juventus explored a move for the former Ajax player last summer, but talks stalled. Their admiration for Mazraoui's profile, however, has not diminished, and they are ready to renew their efforts this January.

The coming weeks will be crucial as Juventus attempt to broker deals for two players they believe can immediately improve Spalletti's options. With both targets at a career crossroads, a return to a familiar league could prove tempting.
