Emmerdale actor Danny Miller has hinted that he could be swapping the Dales for the ballroom, revealing during a podcast interview that discussions are underway for him to appear on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. The star, known for playing Aaron Dingle, made the comments on the Live, Laugh, Luke Podcast with host Luke Hamnett, alongside fellow soap actress Brooke Vincent.
From the Apprentice to the Ballroom
During the podcast, Miller reflected on his time on The Celebrity Apprentice, explaining how ITV soap stars have historically faced restrictions on appearing in rival channel programmes. He shared that he approached the BBC about joining the show, and the response was surprisingly positive.
'I asked if I could it. They want to change it basically because Netflix, Prime, all them, they're taking over and they want to collaborate a bit more. I asked could I do the Apprentice and they said 'let us look at it'. I asked out of pure courtesy obviously, and they gave me three weeks off to do it,' Miller said. 'They said 'the top dog at ITV's okayed it because they're using you as a guinea pig to see if it works. That's a compliment I think. Fine. I did it.'
When Hamnett questioned whether committing to another show would affect his Emmerdale role, Miller was quick to clarify: 'I'm under contract so it's irrelevant. It's like a United player playing for Man City. It just wouldn't ever happen really.'
Strictly Talks Confirmed
Hamnett then asked the question many fans have wondered: 'Do you reckon you could ever do Strictly?' Miller's response was cryptic but tantalising: 'I believe they are talking about the possibilities of that.'
However, Vincent was quick to pour cold water on the idea, pointing out a potential flaw: 'You can't dance.' Miller conceded with a simple 'Correct.'
If Miller were to join the show, he would not be the first Emmerdale star in the 2026 lineup. Lawrence Robb, who plays Mackenzie Boyd, was officially announced as a contestant on Thursday 6 August via the official Strictly social media channels.

Robb, who has been with Emmerdale for six years, has been at the centre of explosive storylines including affairs, kidnap, and murder, as well as the landmark Corriedale crossover with Coronation Street. In a statement, Robb expressed his excitement: 'I don't know who's more excited about this, me or my Mother. I can't quite believe that I am going to be getting my dancing shoes on this September on one of my favourite shows of all time! It's a dream come true, and I can't wait to bring my all to ballroom.
