EastEnders: Ross Attacks Zack After Wedding Affair Exposed

Violence explodes in EastEnders as Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) seeks revenge on Zack Hudson (James Farrar) after uncovering his so-called best man's affair with bride-to-be Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig). Vicki, as viewers know, sought support from Zack in the wake of her devastating ordeal at the hands of stepson Joel (Max Murray), feeling that Ross didn't fully grasp what she'd been through. Sparks soon ignited, with Vicki and Zack embarking on a secret affair but the waitress soon came to realise that, despite everything, Ross was the man she wanted to be with and thus agreed to marry him.

Zack didn't take the news too well and, with Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) having once again turned him down and son Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman) giving him some home truths, the chef lashed out, causing trouble for Ross and Vicki by planting doubts in the groom-to-be's head. On the morning of the wedding, Ross couldn't stop thinking about Zack's theory that Vicki cheated on him the day before the wedding and he did his best to dispel such a theory, vowing to walk down the aisle to say 'I do' with the woman he loves. But after a few throwaway comments from friends and neighbours about Zack and Vicki, the scales began to fall from his eyes as he pieced together the truth about his 'best man' and wife-to-be.

As the celebrant welcomed everyone to the ceremony, Ross couldn't take his eyes off Zack, whose irritability didn't go unnoticed by Vicki either. Mustering up the courage, Ross asked Vicki if Zack was the man she'd slept with previously, revealing that he'd been putting doubts in his head about her all day. Vicki's reaction was all the confirmation Ross needed. The question is: will the wedding go ahead? That remains to be seen but let's just say that Ross is not happy in the immediate aftermath of today's cliffhanger, confronting Zack in Walford park. Vicki desperately tries to explain herself, hoping to convince Ross that he's the one she wants to be with.

Ross, however, isn't ready to listen to her and instead lashes out at Zack, elbowing him in the face as Vicki and Mark Fowler Jr (Stephen Aaron-Sipple) watch on. Is there any salvaging of the big day? Or is Vicki and Ross really no more? EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One or stream from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
