Two men from the capital have appeared before magistrates, facing serious charges related to an alleged plot to steal vehicles and commit burglary.
Court Appearance and Specific Charges
Kingsley Davies, aged 22, of Tudor Crescent in Ilford, and Antonio Da Silva, aged 24, of Chelston Court, Grosvenor Road, East London, stood before Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Friday, November 29. Their court appearance came just two days after their arrest on Wednesday, November 27.
The pair face three joint charges: conspiring to steal vehicles, conspiring to commit a burglary, and possession of cannabis. In addition, Antonio Da Silva was charged separately with a specific burglary offence. All the alleged criminal activity is said to have occurred between August and November of this year.
Police Investigation and Custody Remand
The charges are the result of what Essex Police have described as a major investigation. Following their hearing, both defendants were remanded into custody. They are now scheduled to appear next at Basildon Combined Court on Monday, January 5, 2026.
Ongoing Legal Process
The case highlights ongoing police efforts to tackle organised vehicle crime and burglary. The remand decision means the two men will remain in detention until their next court date in the new year, when more details of the prosecution's case are likely to be presented.
