Enfield pub shooting victim named as Erdem Mustafa, 35

The man fatally shot in a targeted attack inside a pub in Enfield has been identified as 35-year-old Erdem Mustafa. Police continue to search for the unidentified gunman who entered the Sun and Woolpack pub on Hertford Road at approximately 9:30pm on Monday, October 19, and shot Mustafa multiple times.

Emergency services, including armed officers and a trauma team from London's Air Ambulance, responded to the scene in the Freezywater area. The suspect fled before authorities arrived and remains at large.

Police release CCTV of suspect

The Metropolitan Police has launched a major manhunt, releasing CCTV footage of a person believed to be the shooter. The force stated it is not yet clear whether the individual pictured is male or female, or whether they were wearing a disguise.

Detectives believe Mustafa was specifically targeted, though enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing. Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, leading the murder investigation, said: "Our thoughts remain with Erdem’s loved ones following what is undoubtedly a tragic and senseless act that led to his death."

He added: "We recognise local concerns following this incident and while detectives are keeping an open mind, we believe this to be a targeted attack."

Appeal for information and footage

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Chief Inspector Bhangoo said: "We are still urging those who have not yet come forward to do so if they have any information to share, or any CCTV, doorbell, dashcam or mobile phone footage. No detail is too small, and we urge anyone who can help to contact us."

A crime scene remained on Hertford Road for two days while forensic officers in protective clothing collected evidence from the pub and surrounding streets. The cordon was still in place on Monday afternoon.

Increased patrols and second fatal shooting

The Met has increased patrols in Freezywater in response to the incident. Chief Superintendent Anna McCartney, who leads policing in Enfield, said: "We continue to recognise the concern local people have after this incident and can reassure them that detectives are working at pace to find those responsible for Erdem’s death."

She added: "Extra officers remain in the area to offer further reassurance. Serious violence has no place in our community. The Met is committed to tackling gun crime, and we are determined to hold those who seek to do serious harm to account."

The Sun and Woolpack shooting is the second fatal shooting in London in October. On October 2, 40-year-old Levi Davidson died from a chest wound on Acton's Baybrook Street after multiple gunshots were fired at a memorial service near Wormwood Scrubs Open Space at around 7:45pm. No arrests have been made in that case, and the Met continues to appeal for information.

Anyone with information about the Enfield shooting is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 7050/19OCT26, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
