Islington Street Fight with Broken Bottles Under Investigation

Forensic specialists have been investigating in Islington after multiple young men were arrested and taken to hospital following an early morning street fight believed to have involved broken bottles. Yonge Park, at the junction of Seven Sisters Road near Finsbury Park, was cordoned off for hours on Saturday after the shocking violence.

Arrests and Injuries

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Our officers arrested four men aged between 24 and 29 following an altercation in Seven Sisters Road at around 7.25am on Saturday, May 30. The men suffered laceration wounds and were taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service, where they remain in a stable condition. They will be transferred to custody once treatment has concluded. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Met via 101, quoting 1969/30MAY.”

Ambulance Response

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 7.31am to reports of a stabbing on Yonge Park, Islington. We sent ambulance crews, a paramedic from our tactical response unit and an incident response officer to the scene. We treated two patients and took them to hospital.” While initial calls suggested a stabbing, MyLondon understands the wounds were likely caused by broken bottles used in the altercation, not knives.
