Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) has felt utterly alone in her fight against Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) in Emmerdale. In upcoming episodes, that changes as she meets another woman subjected to the wicked doctor's abuse.
Charity's secret ordeal
For months, Charity couldn't tell anyone that Doctor Todd was blackmailing her over the truth about baby Leyla's parentage. The beloved character was then raped by Caitlin, another secret that ate away at her. A conversation with Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) eventually saw Charity tell Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) about Leyla and everything Doctor Todd put her through.
While Mackenzie supports Charity, the loneliness hasn't gone away. Mack tries to be there for his wife, but her secrets and lies have damaged their relationship irreversibly.
CPS drops the case
Next week, Charity learns the CPS won't pursue Todd's case due to lack of evidence. Their anger growing, Mack and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) plot to uncover buried complaints at the hospital. Vanessa quickly puts the plan in motion, heading to the hospital with Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant) to meet HR rep Carol.
When Charity gets wind of what Vanessa and Jacob are up to, she confronts them. On her way, she meets a woman named Helen, another of Doctor Todd's victims. Helen doesn't want to talk, but something is clearly on her mind when Charity quietly tells her she was raped by Caitlin.
A new ally emerges
If Helen begins to open up, will Charity get answers that can help her case? We know Doctor Todd won't go to prison for her crimes, as a flashforward confirmed she will be murdered. The clip, featured in a recent episode, showed Caitlin lying on the floor in a pool of blood.
The suspect hasn't been revealed yet. Will it be Charity if she can't get justice through the courts?
