A family of three has died after falling from Germany's tallest observation tower in the Harz Mountains. The victims, two adults and a child, were found at the base of the 213-foot wood-and-steel structure on Thursday evening.
Emergency response and investigation
Firefighters rushed to the scene, but the trio were pronounced dead. Police have launched a major investigation, though the cause of the fall remains unclear. The tower, which cost around 10 million euros to build, features two observation decks and a 'skywalk' with a glass floor at a height of 45 meters.
