Emmerdale hints at Nicola and Kev romance after Jimmy exit

Emmerdale has laid the groundwork for a new romance between Nicola King and Kev Townsend following the tragic death of Jimmy King. Actor Nick Miles is leaving the soap, with his character Jimmy being killed off, leaving Nicola devastated.

Jimmy's Death Sets Stage for New Dynamic

Producer Laura Shaw revealed in May that Nicola will be supported by a surprise village resident as she faces troubles. That resident is Kev Townsend, biological father of Lewis Barton. Kev and Nicola have clashed repeatedly since his return, as Nicola believes he will break Lewis' heart.

In a recent episode, Kev worked a shift at the cafe and later helped Lewis and Vinny Dingle clean bins. While outside, they heard Nicola confronting Jimmy for skipping work to play golf with Manpreet Sharma. As Jimmy retreated, Nicola approached the trio, and Kev sprayed her with a hose.

Hose Incident Sparks Speculation

The move may have been an attempt to distract the angry Nicola. Actor Chris Coghill said, "They've got a funny relationship. I think he likes the fact that she's protective of Lewis, which he does appreciate. But at the same time she doesn't want Kev there and there's a bit of him that does want to win her over."

Coghill didn't rule out a romance, teasing, "There could be. Not with anyone in particular at the moment but he is open to offers." As Jimmy continues to annoy Nicola, she may find herself spending more time with Kev, potentially leading to a new love story.
