In contrast, Burnham seems present and treats interviews as opportunities to sell his policies.
Burnham's Comfort in Politics
Munro traveled to Bath for his first interview with Burnham, who announced a new £2 bus fare cap at a Somerset bus depot. Unlike Starmer, Burnham felt very at home in politics, a trait his wife says was evident from their first meeting at university when he told her he wanted to be an MP. Burnham stayed after filming to chat with local media, showing a more relaxed approach.
Different Interview Styles
During the interview, Munro noticed Burnham's ability to handle unexpected questions. When asked about integrating public transport across the country, Burnham immediately expressed support, whereas Starmer might have deflected or panicked. Munro concluded that while it's too early to judge Burnham's success, the prime ministerial vibes are noticeably different under the new occupant.
