The A4 near Heathrow Airport has been shut down following a fatal stabbing that left a 22-year-old man dead. The Metropolitan Police closed the road between Great South West Road and the Parkway just after midnight on Monday, June 30, after responding to reports of a serious incident.
Victim pronounced dead at scene
Officers arrived to find the man with serious stab wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service, he was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made so far.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller, leading the investigation, said: 'Our officers responded quickly with the London Ambulance Service and did everything possible to help the victim. Our thoughts remain with his family and friends. This is a fast-paced investigation, and enquiries are ongoing.'
Forensic tents and traffic disruption
Multiple forensic tents have been set up on the road as investigators gather evidence. The closure has caused significant traffic buildup, with cars backing up and buses being diverted. Local residents are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
Police have increased patrols from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team. Waller added: 'Any information, no matter how minor it may seem, could prove crucial. CCTV, doorbell or mobile phone footage may provide vital evidence.'
Appeal for witnesses
The Metropolitan Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. The investigation remains active, and officers are reviewing available footage and speaking to potential witnesses. The road closure is expected to remain in place for several hours as forensic work continues.
