Jeremy Clarkson has a new feud brewing, this time with naturalist and Springwatch host Chris Packham. The 66-year-old former Top Gear presenter responded angrily after Packham criticised Clarkson's Farm during a recent episode of Celebrity Gogglebox.
What Chris Packham said about Clarkson's Farm
During the fifth episode of series eight of Celebrity Gogglebox, aired on July 3, 2026, Packham watched the animated intro of Clarkson's Farm and launched into a critique. 'Already, right, that's not what a farm looks like,' he said to his stepdaughter Megan McCubbin. 'Most farms are horrible monocultures, which have been sprayed with deadly chemicals time and time again. The ground pumped full of fertiliser, and loads of the animals are indoors in crates, being crushed and kept in the dark.' He added: 'That's an idealistic view of a farm, and it puts the wrong idea in people's minds. And that's only the titles!' He then joked: 'What's my blood pressure?'
Jeremy Clarkson's response
Clarkson fired back in his July 10 column for The Sun, dismissing Packham's claims as 'b******s'. He noted that Packham had visited Diddly Squat Farm in 2012 for a day of foraging and bird watching, implying the naturalist should know the farm's reality. Clarkson described Packham as 'endlessly angry'.
Harriet Cowan, who filled in for Kaleb Cooper during Clarkson's Farm series 4, also responded on TikTok. In a video captioned 'Chris Packham. Maybe before throwing shade at all farmers, research your facts. What world are you living in?', she toured a farm showing diverse animals and crops, countering Packham's monoculture claim.
Context of Clarkson's feuds
Clarkson has a history of public spats, including barring Keir Starmer from his pub, battling BBC bosses over a hotel 'fracas', and punching Piers Morgan at the British Press Awards. However, he has since mellowed and reconciled with Morgan. This latest clash with Packham revives his combative side.
Metro has reached out to both Packham and Clarkson for further comment. The exchange highlights ongoing debates about farming practices and media portrayals, with Packham advocating for environmental realism and Clarkson defending his show's depiction.
