The model and actress, daughter of Alec Baldwin, reacted after the celebrity blogger was hospitalised following a distressing TikTok livestream that allegedly showed him self-harming.
Ireland Baldwin's Accusations
In an Instagram Stories post, Ireland, 30, claimed that Perez, 48, 'humiliated her family for years' and made inappropriate comments about her as a child. She wrote: 'Perez Hilton has [publicly] humiliated my family for years. He [has] sexualised me from a young age, commented on my weight and body (as a child), made unforgivable comments about people in my family, drew j**z[sic] coming out of my mom's and friend's mouths, and has always been a despicable human being.'
Despite her harsh words, she expressed sympathy for his children, saying: 'But his children deserve better and a healthy father and I am so sad for all of them. I hope he gets the help he needs and heals.'
Perez Hilton's Controversial Career
Perez, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., is a Miami-based blogger and media personality known for his gossip site PerezHilton.com. Over the years, he has been involved in numerous celebrity feuds and controversies, including allegedly outing gay celebrities like Lance Bass and Neil Patrick Harris. In 2010, he faced backlash for sharing a link to an upskirt picture of a then-17-year-old Miley Cyrus. He also had a volatile history with Britney Spears, mocking her weight and mental health struggles.
Family Update and Emergency Response
Following Tuesday night's incident, Perez's family issued a statement saying he can communicate after being hospitalised. They said: 'This has been incredibly difficult and emotional for us, made even harder because very little information has been made available to our family. While we continue to wait for further updates, we remain hopeful. We have also been able to confirm that Perez can communicate, which has given our family hope.'
The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office told CNN they received multiple calls about the livestream. Deputies quickly located his residence and confirmed he was alone inside. They noted that in such incidents, deputies prioritise de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques to reduce harm.
