Tracy Barlow Hospitalised After Drink Spiked by Ross
Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) collapsed and was rushed to hospital in the July 30 episode of Coronation Street after evil rapist Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield) spiked her drink. The incident occurred when Cassie Plummer's (Claire Sweeney) plan to drug Ross backfired, leaving Tracy as the unintended victim.
Cassie's Plan to Expose Ross
Ross's arrival in Weatherfield shocked Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and his family, but they quickly warmed to his charm. However, Cassie saw through his act, revealing that when she was 15, Ross paid a friend to sleep with her. Tyrone confronted Ross, but Ross manipulated him into believing he had changed, leaving Cassie isolated.
Outside, Ross pinned Cassie against a wall and threatened to kill her if she came between him and Tyrone again. Determined to protect her family, Cassie crushed some of Tyrone's painkillers and hid them in Ross's drink when she learned he needed a drugs test for a new job.
Ross Turns the Tables
Ross discovered Cassie's plan and, instead of drinking the spiked smoothie himself, offered it to Tracy, claiming she looked unwell. Tracy drank it and collapsed in front of her daughter Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney). Paramedics rushed Tracy to hospital, leaving Cassie shocked and potentially facing blame.
According to Metro, the incident may lead to a shock exit for the character. Viewers are left wondering if Ross will frame Cassie for putting Tracy in hospital.
