Emmerdale's Caleb Miligan (William Ash) is set to take a vengeful step against Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) in tonight's episode (Tuesday, August 11), as he agrees to help Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) and Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) execute a daring plan to escape with their children. The scheme, which involves obtaining new identities and cash, is designed to destroy Joe's life while he is off guard.
Why Caleb wants revenge on Joe
Caleb's hatred for Joe stems from Joe stealing his kidney, and the recent discovery of Caleb's dodgy business practices has only fueled his desire for retribution. When the opportunity to ruin Joe's life presented itself, Caleb jumped at it, according to Metro.
Billy was recently hospitalised after a brutal attack, and Caleb took the chance to convince him that Joe was behind it, pointing to Joe's motive after learning about the kiss Billy and Dawn shared. However, in tonight's episode, the true attacker is revealed, but Joe still appears set to pay the price for crossing Caleb.
Dawn and Billy's plan to escape
Caleb could barely hide his frustration when Billy admitted he told the police he couldn't remember his attacker, meaning Joe was off the hook. But Billy and Dawn revealed their plan to lull Joe into a false sense of security before destroying his life—and they would need Caleb's help.
While Joe's guard was down, they'd take the kids and run, starting a new life under new names. As Caleb explained the plan to Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly), she saw the benefit of helping them obtain new identities, contacts, and cash for the escape.
The question remains: will Dawn's plan to leave Joe and run away with Billy work out, and is Joe set to lose everything he loves?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with the episode available to watch early on YouTube and ITVX.
